Artist Statement
Somehow or other, belonging and function simply happens, where and how ever they were always destined to end up, as much component units alone by themselves, as members of vast complex mass. Any single spare-part moved away or taken out forces all the rest to collapse, domino-topple and chain-react. Shifting just 1 fixture shall pull and knock the others out of place; the entire lot, dislodged and fallen apart.

Process Statement
Melissa's Moore's work is often made through a process of performance in various places. She deploys the body as an investigative tool concerning the materiality of spaces and the symbolic orders they contain, and negotiate these relations via the geometry of her camera. Her current series explores the 'feedback' between art and nature. The work is shot on film and made into large scale hand-prints.
